Alleged Breach Constitution : APC vice chair, Lukman, threatens to sue Adamu, Omisore for running a one-man show

The National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress for North-West, Mallam Salihu Lukman, on Thursday, carried out his threat to sue the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, for alleged breach of the party’s constitution.

The development came one week after Lukman issued an ultimatum to Adamu and Omisore to convene an emergency meeting of the National Executive Council to address the anomalies in the party.

Lukman had warned that failure to summon the NEC meeting would make him seek a court injunction to enforce compliance in line with the provisions of APC Constitution.

The face-off between the Kaduna politician and the APC national chairman had been a recurring case in the last one year.

Aside from accusing Adamu of running a one-man show, the APC National Vice Chairman for North-West also accused Adamu or reducing the party’s National Working Committee to a mere rubber stamp to approve important decisions singlehandedly take.

The crisis, however, took a different twist on Thursday when Adamu and Omisore were officially served the court summons.

“They were officially served this afternoon. In fact, I can even say confidently that members of the NWC are equally aware that Lukman has matched his threat with action,” a source at the APC secretariat told our correspondent.

In the suit filed by Lukman’s lawyer, Mohammed Abdullahi of Lexhill City Attorneys, the plaintiff gave the secretary of the party 30 days to respond to the summons.
