Forceful Marriage: How Okechukwkwu (aka Igrigi) Sets Chinyere’s Family House Ablaze and Threatens to Kill Her

In April this year, 2023 in Umulokochie Ntu Ngor/Okpala, LGA, Imo State, a chilling account emerged involving a man known as Chief Okechukwu Agomuo (a.k.a. Igrigi), who came from Umunto Ntu Ngor/Okpala, LG. Threatened the life of an innocent woman named Chinyere Ngozi Amadi, born in 1986—37 years ago, She from Umulokochie Ntu. The late father of Chinyere Ngozi Amadi, Mr. Amadi Chukwuemeka, had used her as collateral for a loan he obtained from Chief Okechukwu Agomuo (aka Igrigi) when she was still a young girl. The father kept this arrangement hidden from both her and her mother, likely due to the absence of male children in the family.

Further aggravating the situation, he abandoned them to marry another wife and showed no care for them until he passed away. When Chinyere reached a marriageable age and entered a relationship with her chosen partner, , Chief Okechukwu, who had risen to significant influence and notoriety within their village, sought to take her as his fourth wife, as agreed upon by his late father prior to his demise. Even the uncles supported this union, being aware of the agreement.

Mr. Okechukwu Agomuo (aka Igrigi) resorted to coercion, threatening to forcibly marry Chinyere, despite her ignorance of the arrangement between her father and the man. This ruthless individual claimed that Chinyere’s father had borrowed money from him based on their agreement, which bound both of them to the understanding that he would marry Chinyere in the future. Upon learning of Chinyere’s intention to marry a man of her choice, he initiated threats against her mother, Mrs. Ugochi Anthonia, and plotted to kidnap the woman if she failed to hand over her daughter for the enforced marriage.

The distressing turn of events led Mrs Ugochi Anthonia Ugbogu , her mother to flee for their lives. When Chief Okechukwu realized that she have escaped and he could not locate her, he callously set their house ablaze. According to our reliable sources, The mother flee because the house was set ablaze and run for her life, this man is relentlessly pursuing the lady, intent on marrying her against her will or resorting to violent measures. A community member, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed to us that they suspect him as a member of Mossob, the unknown gunmen terrorist, the extent of Chief Okechukwu Agomiu (aka Igrigi) power and his continuous intimidation of this innocent girl’s
family.
The Police has done nothing because they fear to arrested him.
Newsthumb made attempts to contact Chief Okechukwu Agomiu (aka Igrigi) for confirmation via phone, but he did not respond to messages or calls, leaving this shocking story to unfold.
