2023 : Tinubu Will Make Use Of Technology For Massive Development In Nigeria, Says Lagos Dep. Gov, Hamzat

Published

on

Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, has assured that Nigeria under the presidency of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would experience more development as he would deploy technology for the advancement of the country.

Hamzat stressed that as governor, Asiwaju Tinubu’s technological innovations led to a massive turnaround in Lagos State, and contributed greatly to its financial progress, which he said made the state the envy of others till date.

“We need to build a bigger nation and only technology can make it happen,” Hamzat declared and added that, “with technology, a work that should take about 10 days will be done in 10 minutes,” saying that, Lagos State was the first state in Nigeria that started automation that other states are now learning from and replicating in their various states without minding that they don’t belong to the same political party with Lagos.

The Deputy Governor made the assertion Monday while appearing as a guest on a Zoom meeting hosted by the APC Presidential Campaign Committee on Media and Publicity Directorate for Lagos State under the leadership of the former State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Kehinde Bamigbetan.

According to Hamzat, it is on record that besides using technology to generate greater revenue, it was also deployed to block all loopholes through which public funds could be wasted or siphoned out illegally, saying, Tinubu laid down a technological template that gave no room for ghost workers in any of the departments or agencies in the state.

Hamzat spoke on the topic, “Asiwaju and Technological Governance,” where he reminded how Tinubu, as Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2003, used technology to shoot up the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as well as how he deployed the same technology to secure the state, asserting that, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has all what it takes to govern Nigeria and make the country great through the use of technology.

The Deputy Governor, who was the Commissioner in charge of Science and Technology under Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as governor, said that what goes for the APC presidential candidate is his ability to fish out competent Nigerian brains across the globe and entice them home to develop their fatherland, giving an insight into how Tinubu spotted him abroad and brought him home to contribute his quota to the progress of Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general.

He revealed that the technological template created by Asiwaju is being utilised by at least 16 (or more) other states across the country today, adding that, some of the states that came down to Lagos were from the states being controlled by the ruling party then while Tinubu was in charge of Lagos, an opposition party state.

During the one-hour interesting zoom parley, Hamzat was of the conviction that the Asiwaju Tinubu he knows and worked for would be a great President that will make Nigeria the real giant of Africa as he would engage the youth and deploy technology to put Nigeria where it properly belongs in the comity of nations.

Speaking further, Hamzat expressed admiration about the APC flag bearer’s endowment to tap the potentials of the youth for development believing strongly that, the youth, with their energy and potentials deposited in them by God would have a very wide avenue to express themselves positively and productively in the administration of Asiwaju Tinubu when he becomes President.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council for Lagos State, Hon Kehinde Bamigbetan disclosed that the objective of the zoom meeting being held with notable personalities that know and had possibly worked with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is to let them inform the populace about who is Tinubu, what has he done before and what is he capable of doing now if he becomes President by the grace of God by May 29, 2023.

According to Bamigbetan, who also served Tinubu as his Chief Press Secretary and later Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), said further that, the Directorate mandate includes selling the Tinubu’s manifesto to the people as well as promote the personality of the flag bearer as the most competent and most eminently qualified contestant among the lot.

In addition, Bamigbetan stated the need for the exercise because of the 7.1 million eligible voters in Lagos, who have Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) not to be perceive on the Election Day but to be rightly guided, persuaded and encouraged to come out and exercise their civic duties in favour of the best man standing, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Lagos Chairman of the APC-PCC Directorate said other aspects of governance like security, entertainment, education, health and others would be touched by the Directorate with a view knowing more about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu properly from those who know him well and can dissect him objectively.

2027 Election : AIRLIN Expands To Jigawa, Targets 7m Voters In The Next Election, Says Lami Tanko

Published

As part of its mission to rekindle hope in Nigeria’s democratic process and combat voter apathy, the Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiative in Nigeria (AIRLIN) has inaugurated its 16th office in Jigawa State, continuing its expansion across the 19 northern states of Nigeria.

The national chairman of AIRLIN, Mallam Muhammed Gamawa, who presided over the inauguration ceremony on May 24, 2025, also unveiled the local government, zonal, and state coordinators for Jigawa.

“With this new office, AIRLIN is aiming to mobilize and educate 7 million voters across northern Nigeria ahead of the next general elections,” he said.

AIRLIN, a non-governmental organization committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and civic responsibility, is directing its efforts toward communities where voter disengagement is prevalent.

“The goal is to empower citizens especially at the grassroots level with civic education and renewed confidence in democratic governance,” Mallam Gamawa added.

Speaking during an interview, the newly appointed Jigawa State Coordinator, Mallam Musa Muhammad Hadeija, said the inauguration is both empowering and enlightening.

“This inauguration means a lot,” he said. “It has empowered me to establish a strong outreach in the communities sensitizing them, mobilizing them, and effectively putting in place the key objectives of the Advocacy for Integrity and Rule of Law Initiative.”

He also emphasized the importance of collaboration and local assessment. “I’m now able to meet with my local government coordinators, and we’ve clearly seen the nitty-gritty of what needs to be done. The interaction during the Q&A session was very beneficial—I’ve learned a lot, and that will give me a better chance to serve.”

When asked how ordinary Nigerians can help uphold the rule of law, particularly those in remote communities, Mallam Hadeija said:

“That is possible through empowerment, skills development, civic education, and consistent sensitization. People need to understand their roles as citizens, and we must build strong partnerships with stakeholders at local, state, and national levels. That’s how we’ll create a solid foundation for real impact.”

Addressing the public’s disillusionment with democracy, especially when elected leaders fail to deliver, he called on citizens to remain committed and united.

“Citizens need to understand that their individual involvement in AIRLIN’s assignment is key. Changing the narrative is possible. We can make AIRLIN a game changer if we are all dedicated, united, and fully aware of the task ahead executing it with purpose and at the right time.”

With Jigawa joining the growing list of AIRLIN offices, the organization is strengthening its national presence and doubling down on its mission to foster democratic integrity and active citizen participation.

Defect or resign, Gov Eno, Tells Appointees And openly confirmed his decision to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has directed all commissioners and political appointees in his cabinet to either defect with him to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or resign from their positions.

The directive was reportedly issued during an ongoing State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting on Thursday, where the Governor openly confirmed his decision to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC.

Sources present at the meeting disclosed that Governor Eno made it clear that his defection should come as no surprise to any of his appointees, stating:

“Anybody who claims he is not aware of my intention to leave the PDP is still living in the 18th century.”

He explained that his decision to align with the APC was driven by his admiration for the leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that he wants to work more closely with the federal government.

The Governor issued a stern warning to his appointees, saying he has “nothing to negotiate” with anyone unwilling to follow his political direction.

“Apart from elected officials like House of Assembly members and Local Government Chairmen, I have nothing to negotiate with you,” Eno declared.

“Let me tell you, anybody who believes that when I leave the PDP he will use the party structure to fight me is lying, because I will still control the PDP structure.”

As of the time of filing this report, the State Executive Council meeting was still in session, with further developments expected in the coming hours.
