BREAKING: PPPRA deletes petrol increase template from website

This followed outcry on the social media as the story of upward review of the pump price went viral on Friday morning.

Its spokesperson, Folasade Kayode, who our correspondent called on phone for comments on removal of the new template from the website, declined comments.

She simply told our correspondent : “I am in a meeting. I will call you back”.

As at 11:00am, our correspondent discovered the PPPRA had removed not only the latest template but even those of early 2021.

The latest petrol pricing template found on the website was that of March 6, 2020.

Meanwhile, in place of the new template, the PPPRA website said: “Please be informed that published prices are indicative of current market trend”.

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru was yet to get to back to us.

His mobile rang out several times without pick up.
But the Corporation, on its official twitter handle, insisted there would be no price increase of petrol in March 2021.
